Industry Partners

AFA creates partnerships to help AFA identify, encourage and support college men and women pursuing careers in agriculture. AFA partners provide support in the following areas:

Organizational Development

This support allows the organization to grow its internal capacity to provide high-quality applicable training experiences for college men and women and young professionals. This also includes strengthening the organization's internal capacity to meet the changing demands of AFA constituents and partners through technology, operational efficiencies and staffing needs.

Leader Development

Support in this area will assist AFA in developing year-round competency development programs that will connect students, young professionals, industry leaders and academic leaders virtually through the development of online learning models, industry segmented learning and professional resource databases. The emphasis of these programs is to provide outstanding students and young professionals with high-quality, applicable training that enhances personal and professional development. Partners may have the opportunity to be on site, engaged in the facilitation of AFA programs and have the opportunity to actively educate student leaders about intern and fulltime positions across all functions of the organization. Student Identification and Outreach

Student identification and outreach allows AFA to continually grow the scope of student participation by providing support that will allow AFA students who embody the AFA spirit to participate in leader and career development training programs. Partnership support allows AFA programs to be accessible for students across the country.

Student Development

AFA continues to work with the top student leaders in agriculture. Annually, AFA selects a core group of students through an extensive application and interview process to serve on a Student Advisory Team and as Campus Ambassadors. The function of this team is to provide guidance and oversight to AFA programs, serve as AFA ambassadors and build and strengthen AFA relationships with corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. AFA also provides additional leader and career training for this group of students to assist in their personal and professional development. Support for student development will allow AFA to strengthen the development for this group of student leaders.
