Agriculture’s rich history is worth building upon. It is what spurs today’s leaders to move forward rather than resting where they are. Each day, agriculturists must focus on the future, while being intentional in the present and learning from the past.
These ideals prompted the Agriculture Future of America student leaders to select the theme “History Starts Now” for the 2016 AFA Leaders Conference.
The theme chosen also pays homage to the fact that this year’s conference will include a celebration of AFA’s 20th anniversary.
This year’s event will be Nov. 3-6 in Kansas City, Missouri. Student sponsorship applications are now open to students pursuing careers in agriculture and food.
This year, AFA will select over 700 students from across the nation to attend Conference. Delegates gain valuable experiences and relationships through opportunities to network with each other and industry professionals. Conference boasts a 3:1 student to industry professional ratio. The AFA Opportunity Fair, held in conjunction with Conference, allows students to explore internship, job, study abroad and graduate school opportunities.
If your organization is interested in partnering with AFA to support student involvement in programs such as Conference, please contact Mark Stewart.
Colleges and universities can sponsor student participation at a discounted rate. If your institution has not sponsored students in the past, special opportunities exist. Please contact Annie Storey for more information.
